Exam Security is our highest priority at Meazure Learning.
During a proctored exam, Guardian Browser scans your computer for applications that are not allowed while you test. If one of these programs is open or running in the background, you may be asked to close it before you can start—or a security event may be logged during your session.
The list below shows categories of applications we most often detect, along with common product names. Your school or testing organization decides which rules apply to your exam; not every app below is blocked for every session.
Before exam day: Quit and fully close any apps in the categories below. Restart your computer, then open only Guardian Browser to connect to your session.

What to do if an application is detected
- Save your work in any permitted apps, then quit them completely (not just minimize the window).
- Check the system tray or menu bar for apps that keep running after you close the main window.
- Restart your computer if you are unsure whether an app is still running.
- Reconnect through Guardian Browser and proceed with pre-exam checks.
Need an app for accessibility? Contact your instructor or testing organization before exam day. They can confirm whether a specific program is allowed or should be added to an approved list for your session.
This list reflects the applications most frequently detected in proctored sessions. Guardian Browser monitors hundreds of additional processes and applications; the full denylist is updated over time as new security risks are identified.
