Items that are NOT allowed in the Exam Room
What to Bring to the Test Center on Exam Day
The following items will be required in order to complete your exam:

A printed copy of your booking confirmation email.

Valid government-issued photo ID with signature (e.g. driver’s license, passport, etc).
Please note that the name on the Photo ID must match the name on your account. If your name does not match, please contact your testing organization to request an update as soon as possible but at least 10 days before your appointment. -
Some testing organizations may require a 2nd form of ID.
Please review your testing organization-specific rules to determine if your exam includes this requirement.
ID Requirements
Your first and last name on the confirmation notice must match the first and last name on your identification exactly. Your ID must be valid and not expired.

If you have more than one last name, hyphenated name, or a suffix listed on your government-issued photo ID, the same last names must be reflected on the confirmation notice

Please avoid using nicknames during registration.

If you need to update or change your name, please contact your testing organization as soon as possible to process the request, but no later than 10 days prior to your scheduled appointment.

- Driver’s license
- Immigration card
- Passport/US Passport Card
- State/National ID Card
- Temporary government-issued ID
- Military IDs
- HK ID card
- Chinese National ID
- Tribal or Native American government-issued ID.
ID's not accepted
- Digital IDs
- Social Security Card
- Birth Certificate
- Debit/Credit cards/Checks
- Photo or photocopy of IDs
Items that are NOT Allowed in the Exam Room
Your test site proctor will conduct a check-in process including candidate person check to ensure no one enters the testing room with unpermitted materials/resources.
Items not permitted
- Cameras, cell phones, optical readers, or other electronic devices that include the ability to photograph, photocopy, or otherwise copy test materials
- Notes, books, dictionaries, or language dictionaries (except as expressly permitted by the exam sponsor, see the Additional Examination Specific Information in your confirmation notice email if applicable)
- Bookbags or luggage
- Purses or handbags
- iPods, mp3 players, tablets, headphones, or pagers
- Calculators (except as expressly permitted by the test sponsor, see the Additional Examination Specific Information in your confirmation notice email if applicable), computers, PDAs, or other electronic devices with one or more memories
- Personal writing utensils such as pencils, pens, and highlighters
- Google and smart glasses (any glasses with electronics)
- Watches, smart devices, and other jewelry except wedding or engagement rings
- Weapons
- Medicine, including cough drops (except as expressly permitted in advance)
- Food and beverages
- Coats and jackets
- Hats, hoods, or other headwear are not permitted in the examination room unless required for religious purposes. Sweaters and sweatshirts without pockets or hoods are permitted to be worn.
All items are subject to inspection by the proctor if suspicious behavior is detected.
