Goal:
The goal of the Max Attempts function is to detect and limit “repeat offenders” as it relates to candidates that attempt to take exams before admins allow. Max Attempts also allow admins to re-evaluate a candidate's eligibility.
Considerations:
- Attempts will only be counted after the feature is turned on, any attempts completed prior to that will not count toward the allotted attempts.
- An attempt is counted by a fulfilled appointment. If it’s cancelled, they would have another attempt
- If the test-taker gets into their exam, but then reschedules their fulfillment before it’s been fulfilled, they now have another attempt if one is available for them within the LMS
- Allowing someone an additional attempt on this iteration if they have a fulfilled appointment is not an option. A new exam, a clone of this exam, or a single-user exam has to be created.
- When a student goes to schedule, they will not receive the message about max attempts until they select a time/date and it refers them back to their instructor
-
Configuration can determine if the admin would like max attempts to expire automatically.
- i.e.: if the admin would like max attempts to expire after 15 days, the test taker would fulfill their exam on day 1 and be able to schedule again on day 16.
